About Urban Out Sitters |
||
Trained professionals at Urban Out Sitters work around the clock in the company’s West Loop boarding facility to provide dogs care, comfort, and play time that is cage–free. Owners can watch their pets on a webcam and see them socializing with other pets, interacting with staffers, or just relaxing and catching a nap. To ensure the health of all boarders, Urban Out Sitters require dogs to be up-to-date on vaccinations and to be neutered by seven months of age. The company separates the dogs into different groups: puppies, small breeds, and large breeds stay apart from each other to ensure all dogs’ safety. Each dog undergoes an assessment to determine the best group for its social needs, and all animals have access to outside play time, regular feedings, and optional departure baths or grooming services. Staffers observe the groups all day and ensure that each dog is safe and has fresh drinking water. Urban Out Sitters’ knowledgeable staff have observed that cats fare better in their own environments than in a boarding facility. For this reason, the company does not board cats onsite, instead dispatching staff members to visit the client’s home to refresh the cat’s food and water, clean the litter box, and even bring in the mail. As part of these comprehensive services, Urban Out Sitters will also administer medications if necessary and phone the owner after each visit. In addition, the company offers several dog–walking programs that provide special service to puppies and senior dogs. Urban Out Sitters’ puppy service includes two to three visits a day from a trained staffer to take the puppy out for 15-minute breaks, which helps them stay consistent in their potty–training routines at home. With senior canines, the walker spends a half–hour taking the dog out, massaging joints and muscles, and giving any medications as required. Urban Out Sitters got its start in 1999 as the idea of owner Joseph Giannini, who has acted as an advocate for animals most of his life. He belongs to groups such as The Dog Advisory Work Group (D.A.W.G), The Anti-Cruelty Society, and the Lakeshore Animal Shelter to help fight cruelty to animals and to find abandoned, abused, and unwanted pets good homes. At Urban Out Sitters, he makes sure his staff treats animals with love and respect, and satisfied client testimonials on the company’s website attest to the quality of his services. |
